SALES & ADOPTION AGREEMENT
This Sales and Adoption Agreement is entered into on the date signed below between Jersey Bunnies, hereinafter referred to as the BREEDER, and the undersigned individual, hereinafter referred to as the ADOPTER, for the purchase and adoption of a pet rabbit.
By reserving and/or purchasing a rabbit from Jersey Bunnies, the ADOPTER confirms that they have read, understand, and agree to all terms and conditions outlined in this Agreement.
1. Rabbit Information
The ADOPTER agrees to pay an adoption fee of $, which helps offset the costs associated with responsible breeding, animal care, housing, feeding, and general upkeep.
All adoption fees and deposits are non-refundable. All sales are final.
Deposits to place a bunny on hold will be $300
Deposits can be made Via Zelle to kaitlyn bartley at 732-740-0225
2. Reservation Deposit Policy
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a bunny. Once a bunny is marked as reserved, the deposit is non-refundable in the event of buyer cancellation, change of mind, failure to pick up, or inability to complete the purchase for any reason.
At the time of reservation, the bunny is healthy to the best of the BREEDER’s knowledge. Most bunnies are reserved prior to 8 weeks of age and are still growing and developing. While the vast majority of babies thrive, rabbits are delicate animals and there is always a small inherent risk that a young bunny may fail to thrive despite appropriate care.
If something occurs while the bunny remains in the BREEDER’s care, the ADOPTER may choose either:
Once the rabbit leaves the BREEDER’s care, all responsibility transfers to the ADOPTER, and no refunds or exchanges will be issued.
3. Rabbit Sensitivity, Health Monitoring & Owner Education
The ADOPTER acknowledges that rabbits are sensitive animals and that stress, sudden dietary changes, environmental changes, or improper handling can affect their health. One example of a stress-related condition in rabbits is gastrointestinal (GI) stasis, which can occur when routines or diets are changed too quickly.
The BREEDER closely monitors each rabbit’s health and development and provides weekly health and growth updates leading up to pickup. At the time the rabbit leaves the BREEDER’s care, the rabbit is documented to be healthy to the best of the BREEDER’s knowledge.
The ADOPTER agrees to read all information provided by the BREEDER regarding rabbits and their care, including health, diet, housing, handling, and adjustment guidance, and further agrees to educate themselves on proper rabbit care. The ADOPTER understands that patience, consistency, and adherence to the BREEDER’s instructions are essential for a successful transition and long-term well-being.
4. Care, Research & Education Requirement
The ADOPTER agrees to:
Failure to follow proper care or dietary guidelines may result in illness or injury, for which the BREEDER is not responsible.
5. Care and Welfare Responsibilities
The ADOPTER agrees to provide a safe, clean, and appropriate environment for the rabbit, including proper housing, nutrition, enrichment, and veterinary care.
The ADOPTER agrees not to neglect, abuse, or mistreat the rabbit. If the ADOPTER fails to uphold any part of this Agreement or provide adequate care, the rabbit must be surrendered unconditionally to the BREEDER without financial restitution or compensation.
6. Veterinary Care
7. Breeding Restrictions
The rabbit is sold strictly as a companion animal and may not be used for breeding purposes.
The rabbit is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption. If purchasing more than one rabbit, the ADOPTER agrees to house rabbits responsibly and to spay/neuter when appropriate to prevent accidental breeding.
8. Gender, Size & Appearance Disclaimer
The BREEDER makes every reasonable effort to correctly identify the rabbit’s gender and characteristics; however, no guarantees are made regarding:
These characteristics may change as the rabbit matures.
9. FINAL SALE POLICY
All rabbits are sold AS IS as live animals.
10. Medical Responsibility
The rabbit leaves the BREEDER’s care in noticeably healthy condition. Once in the ADOPTER’s possession, the ADOPTER assumes full responsibility for all medical care, treatment, and expenses.
11. Health Concerns & Documentation
The ADOPTER agrees to notify the BREEDER promptly if any health concerns arise. Veterinary documentation is required for any dispute regarding the rabbit’s health or condition.
The BREEDER may, at their sole discretion, offer a replacement animal in the case of a birth defect with proper veterinary documentation stating that the defect was a result from birth.
False or misleading claims regarding the rabbit’s health or behavior will not be tolerated and may result in legal action.
12. Rehoming Policy
If the ADOPTER is unable to keep the rabbit, they agree to contact the BREEDER first.
The BREEDER reserves the right to refuse return if the rabbit is not in good health or has not been properly cared for and may request veterinary documentation prior to any return.
13. Legal Agreement
By reserving and/or purchasing a rabbit from the BREEDER, the ADOPTER agrees to be legally bound by this Agreement. Any violation of this contract may result in surrender of the rabbit to the BREEDER without financial restitution.
14. Pickup Delays, Extensions & Abandonment
Pickup dates are scheduled in advance and must be honored unless otherwise approved by the BREEDER.
The BREEDER reserves the right to determine abandonment due to lack of communication or failure to comply with pickup arrangements.
